I’m sharing a card on the Darkroom Door blog today. It uses one of the 2015 Christmas stamp sets – Brushed Christmas Vol 2.
Pop over to see the whole card along with instructions on how it was made!
There is a huge range of ‘tree’ dies around now and this one by Tim Holtz is one of my favourites. It is so easy to make a veritable forest of Christmas trees!
Start the card by stamping some dictionary paper with the Darkroom Door Flourish background stamp using clear Versamark ink and emboss with clear powder.
Paint with Silks pearlescent paint in Love Struck.
Diecut a pair of trees using Tim Holtz die and edge branches with glitter.
Add a greeting from Darkroom Door Stitched Christmas set, raised on some foam tape.
Are you ready for another time consuming card? I thought I would show you a pretty, glittery one to celebrate half way point of my challenge. This one is a little fiddly but the rolling part can easily be done in front of the telly.
Ages ago there were masses of different projects circulating around Pinterest which featured rolls of pattered paper in varying configurations. It gave me an idea for this rolled Christmas card.
Select a bunch of scraps that will work together. Sketch a tree shape onto some scrap paper so you have a basic plan to aim for. Start tearing and rolling and gluing until you have enough ‘rolls’ to create the tree shape, don’t forget shorter pieces for a trunk!
Add a little glue to the ends and dip into glitter. Arrange into shape, sprinkle a some extra glitter around the tree.
Add a Merry Christmas greeting and a pretty, sparkly card is ready for mailing.
Do you remember the ATC I shared back at #3? These cards are based on the same type of alcohol ink image. These are quick and lots of fun to make.
The best bit is making up a pile of backgrounds to stamp – the alcohol inks come in a rainbow of colours so it’s so easy to co-ordinate them with cardstock colour choices.
Australia has hot Summer Christmases so the closest we get to snow at this time of year is with our Christmas cards! This stamp is perfect to add a touch of glittery, snowy joy to your greetings.
