29 Days of Christmas Inspiration #1

29 Days of Christmas Inspiration by Robyn Wood, Purple Salt, www.purplesalt.net

This was going to be 30 days of Christmas Inspiration but ok, so I’m a day late in starting – call it best laid plans. My plan is to share 29 days of Christmas inspiration – cards, ATC’s and whatever takes my fancy.

I was searching through my photo archive a while ago and realised how many different Christmas cards that I have made over the years. As many have never been shared here I thought it the perfect reason for my first blog series.  Some days I’ll share just a pic and others I’ll share instructions – but if you have any questions on how I did any of them, just ask!

RW Dec 13-25

Onto my first card – this one was created last Christmas for LuLu Art. I think it is an all-time favourite due to its shimmery coppery effect.  I created it as part of a bunch of cards for my December DT post and you can find the rest of them here.

RW Dec 13 Card 4 (1)

Stamp cardstock with Darkroom Door Music background stamp using Versamark clear ink and emboss with clear powder. Spritz stamped image with Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise & Calypso Teal. Prepare a shimmery, sponging solution by adding a small amount of water to a few drops of Daler Rowney FW Acrylic Ink (Birdwing Copper). Sponge this mixture very lightly all over the sprayed image and allow to dry well.

Diecut the cardstock, add a layered greeting plus matching ribbon and assemble. This technique will give the effect of a vintage copper patina, perfectly set of by the dark turquoise card base and ribbon.

Pop back tomorrow for the next one!
